Proactively manage regulatory requirements and associated process changes (e.g., upcoming EU Green Deal regulations, training, process changes, etc.) across Lidl & Kaufland Asia sourcing operations. Ensure all product categories meet evolving standards and regulatory requirements in cooperation with relevant internal and external stakeholders.

What you'll do

The holder of the position is mainly responsible for the following areas in coordination with his/her superior:


Regulatory Compliance 

  • Monitor and translate complex international and national sustainability and Green Deal regulations into actionable compliance requirements across all product categories (incl. textile, hardgoods, food and near-food).
  • Serve as the subject matter expert and act as a consultant for internal teams to ensure regulatory compliance.

 

Process Integration

  • Partner with internal teams to embed product sustainability criteria and sustainable material requirements into existing processes across the product lifecycle.
  • Map regulatory compliance criteria across relevant internal tools and systems.
  • Develop relevant policies, cross-functional guidance documents, and reports.
  • Drive automation, efficiency, and support data collection efforts.


Stakeholder and Project Management

  • Proactively engage with key internal stakeholders to raise regulatory awareness, build capabilities and integrate regulatory compliance into existing workflows.
  • Engage external stakeholders, including industry groups and consultants, to stay ahead of regulatory trends, drive projects forward, and ensure business readiness.
  • Support the Sustainability team on ad hoc projects.

What you'll need

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in the field of supply chain sustainability, regulatory compliance, or quality assurance.
  • Proven experience in managing cross-functional projects and strong knowledge of current and upcoming European and global supply chain regulations preferred.
  • A proactive problem solver with a “can-do” attitude that challenges the status quo.
  • Independent and diligent with outstanding project management abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment; anticipate needs and be proactive in resolving issues.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with a good command of English both verbally and written are a must.
