Product Development Engineer - Power Tools
Summary
Lidl & Kaufland are hiring Product Development Engineer to join our product development power tools team. The successful candidate will be responsible for below tasks,
Contribute to developing new products and improving existing ones by giving technical support and ideas.
Support the Product Development & Merchandising on all product and quality requirements of related products.
What you'll do
Understand technical requirements and specifications to be applied into product development
Collaborate with merchandising and sourcing teams and factories, regarding technical & engineering aspects of product development
Ideate product improvements and present them to relevant stakeholders
Create test failure analysis and communicate recommendations to suppliers
Clarify the testing issues with external laboratory; Handle laboratory test quotation issues and discuss with the superior for confirmation
Provide support to ad hoc assignment when necessary
Bring in your own ideas and passion into the products (range)
What you'll need
Higher Diploma or above
Relevant experience of technical product development experience in Power Tools
Strong technical expertise in Power Tools
Mechanical (internal) structure knowledge needed
Good sense of market trends and interest in Power Tools
Knowledge for and familiar with the power tools market trends
Familiar with MS Office (especially PowerPoint and Excel). Beneficial if familiar with Solidworks (or similar CAD software), Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop
Proficient in both spoken and written English and Mandarin, additional language skills in German and Cantonese are beneficial
Proactive, self motivated and able to work independently
Able to work together with cross functional teams
Experience with European companies/markets/designs
Beneficial if with factory experience/having experience dealing with suppliers in Power Tools, familiar with manufacturing process in plastic/metal and assembly and basic knowledge of tooling will be a plus.
