Lidl Asia are hiring Technical Manager to join our Quality Assurance department - Small Domestic Appliance team. The successful candidate will be responsible to

•    Support the Quality Assurance Manager in supervising and handling the QA team on all related matters.
•    Liaise on issues and product requirements related to the 3rd party laboratory testing in Germany of related product groups.
•    Support the Quality Assurance and Production Team on all product and quality requirements of related products.

What you'll do

•    Sample Inspection: Oversee sample inspections and with QAM be responsible for their approval

•    QA Warehouse\samples: Responsible for ensuring Team leaders are running sample control and movement. Organisation aspects of this area is also under Technical Manager responsibility

•    Communication: Ensure more face to face discussions; assist with reducing e-mails “bombs”, help develop more use of phone conferences with related parties and agreed instant solution whenever possible

•    Laboratory test quotation issues: Oversee with Lab test and raise issues with QAM for confirmation

•    Attend Kick-off meetings where required for additional support if Senior Quality Consultant is not available

•    Responsible for ensuring correct follow up by Team Leaders in relation to test failure analysis and recommendations to factory by the team

•    Monitor the daily roles of QA staff on behalf of QA Manager, advise of any weaknesses and areas of improvement

•    Advise/discuss with QAM on the critical issues related to projects. Support teams if Team Leader is out of office to ensure projects continue to progress in a timely manner

•    Work with QAM on additional internal projects i.e. data analysis, SOP’s, Guide for use by factory/production and within QA etc.

•    Support QA Manager in assessment of staff capabilities and progress

•    Approve shipment release documents in the absence of QA Manager

What you'll need

•    Minimum 7 years relevant experience in Quality Assurance position for European retail market including leadership experience or experience in the 3rd party testing laboratory.

•    Engineer/Science degree or strong technical expertise on hard-line or hard-goods products, especially Small Domestic Appliances product group

•    Knowledge of European Safety standard, i.e.: EN 60335 Part 1 and Part 2 and Fit For Use Test

•    A can-do attitude is a must

•    PC knowledge is essential

•    Travel is required
