Summary

As the Senior Manager of Data Analytics, you will be contributing to the company’s data strategy, developing, and implementing policies and procedures that ensures data transparency and accuracy. You will leverage data to drive business insights, make decisions and enhance operational efficiency.  You will work closely with business stakeholders and IT to prioritize data-related initiatives that aligns with company goals.

What you'll do

This role resides in Business Controlling & Analytics working closely with IT and business teams, senior management team. Key responsibilities include:

 

Change and Governance

  • Be a champion for the use of data in making business decisions
  • Support development of guidelines for data management and access control
  • Build a culture of community data scientist and self service via data platform

 

Demand Generation

  • Work with senior management to identify use cases where advanced analytics adds real value
  • Work with business understanding the operating model and propose options for data usage and visualization
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, best practice in analytics and visualization.  Network with external partners and identify new opportunities. Influence key stakeholders to support practical adoption of new technologies

 

Advanced Data Analytics

  • Work with business teams, develop PoCs using the latest algorithms and technologies
  • Prepare and visualize data and automate data preparation. Train models to answer relevant business questions. Models can range from simple (e.g., exploratory data analysis, linear regression, cluster algorithms) to complex models (e.g., gradient boosting, neural networks)
  • Conduct pilots with business teams to demonstrate functionality and add value of the models in practice
  • Manage vendor relationships to support delivery of analytical projects, where needed
  • Build capability of the wider team in advanced analytical tools

 

Data Initiatives

  • Monitor external environment for competitive intelligence. Work closely with IT to integrate new data sets into the company’s environment
  • Support rollout of data initiatives that aligns with company strategy. Define data requirements with business teams, roll out new data architectures and models with IT and external partners

What you'll need

  • Bachelors or master’s degree in data science, mathematics, statistics, computer science or similar subject
  • Professional experience in the management of analytics, data projects, e.g., in a consultancy, start-up, or a company
  • Ability to understand complex business issues, to translate them into technical questions, to derive conclusions for a non-technical audience and to present them
  • Very good knowledge of machine learning, optimization, statistics methods, and their implementation with common frameworks
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, influence senior management
  • Project management, change and stakeholder management experience
  • Knowledge of data architecture, data modelling and data governance principles
