Summary
We have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Logistics Manager to optimise and control of all logistics activities and the supply chain for Lidl & Kaufland Asia.
What you'll do
- Acting head of the logistics department heading up a team of over 20
- End to end responsibility for all logistics activities and logistics operations of the company
- Accountable for achieving logistics key objectives, and setting up strategic global logistics solutions to strive for operational excellence
- Analyse and detect root causes, resolve issues and find solutions for continuous improvement
- Liaise with internal departments / vendors / logistics providers / clients on logistics related issues
- Logistics cost negotiations, analysis and control
- Device standard operation procedures as well as KPIs for service providers, lead implementation and monitor compliance and performance
- Strategically plan and implement new logististic workflows and improvement programs liaising with internal and external parties where required
- Courier contract management, negotiations and performance management
- 3PL Service Level contract management, negotiations and performance management
- Reporting, forecasting and analysis
What you'll need
- Degree holder in Logistics Management or related discipline
- Minimum 12 years relevant working experience with at least 5 years in managerial capacity with people management and leadership experience, preferably gained in multi-national Trading Retail Companies, 3PL Freight Forwarding Companies and Shipping Lines
- In-depth experience in 3&4PL services including carrier management, warehouse management, contract logistics VAS and g handling all modes of transport on various Incoterms and payment terms between APAC and Europe/ US
- In-depth knowledge of I / E handling and customs regulations for different consumer product categories for shipments between from APAC to Europe/ US and within various APAC export countries
- Well versed and experienced in EU and US customs clearance procedures
- In-depth knowledge of all International Commercial Terms
- Able to motivate and influence people at different levels and communicate effectively across all hierarchies, functions and regions
- Mature, independent, detail-orientated and strong interpersonal skills
- Proactive and flexible in facing challenges, able to work under pressure and towards tight timelines
- Excellent analytical and presentation skills
- High proficiency in both written and spoken English, proficiency in German and Cantonese are an asset
