Summary

  • The Risk and Corporate Governance Manager is responsible for ensuring the effective implementation and maintenance of risk management and corporate governance practices within the organization.
  • This role involves identifying, assessing, and managing risks, as well as developing and overseeing corporate governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  • The Risk and Corporate Governance Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams to pro-mote risk-awareness and compliance across the organization.

What you'll do

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management framework and strategy, aligned with organizational objectives and industry best practices which covers Strategic, Operational and Project Risk
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify and evaluate potential risks, including financial, operational, legal, and reputational risks.
  • Establish risk mitigation strategies, controls, and action plans to minimize and manage identified risks
  • Monitor and report on key risk indicators, trends, and emerging risks to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to embed risk management practices into business processes and decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain corporate governance policies, procedures, and frameworks alongside relevant business departments and stakeholders to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Act as a strong link between legal, tax, internal audit, business process management and operational teams to ensure correct governance practices are in place across all operations are being executed as planned and continuous improvement opportunities identified and delivered.
  • Provide guidance and support to management and employees on corporate governance
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of corporate governance practices, recommending improvements and implementing changes as needed.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes and industry trends related to risk management and corporate governance, and proactively update relevant policies and procedures.
  • Conduct training and awareness programs to enhance risk awareness and promote a strong corporate governance culture within the organization.
  • Serve as a point of contact for external stakeholders, such as auditors, regulators, and legal advisors, on risk management and corporate governance matters.
  • Participate in Senior Leadership and committee meetings, providing risk and governance insights and recommendations.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Professional certifications in risk management and corporate governance, such as Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), or Chartered Governance Professional (CGP), are highly desirable. At least 5 years' experience in business process management in a related industry, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Proven experience (10 years) in risk management and corporate governance roles, preferably within a regulated industry or large organization.
  • In-depth knowledge of risk management frameworks, methodologies, and best practices (e.g., COSO, ISO 31000).
  • Strong understanding of corporate governance principles, regulations, and requirements. Fluent Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan, execute, and monitor risk and governance initiatives.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Proactive attitude and ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in risk management software, GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) tools, and MS Office Suite.
  • Exceptional leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.
