Summary

Lidl Asia are hiring a Quality Consultant in our Quality Assurance - Food department. The successful candidate will be responsible to the following job duties,

•    Manage independently technical and QA aspects of foods sourced by Lidl Asia

•    Monitor and implement quality assurance activities 

•    Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of the QA – Food department systems and procedures, whilst maintaining an efficient low cost model  

What you'll do

•    Product Technical Compliance

o    You will play a significant role in supporting the QA Consultant – Compliance in collecting and reviewing information and providing the evidence needed to approve the product for launch.

•    Product quality assessment

o    Be responsible for requesting samples from suppliers, manage the samples upon arrival, and keep track of the samples stock and status.
o    Be responsible for scheduling the sensory assessment panel between panelists from internal departments.
o    Assist QA Team in the preparation of the sensory assessment panel and quality checks, including establishing assessment forms, recording the comments and the result, taking photos of the assessed products and reporting. 
o    Establish documented quality standards. Monitoring compliance through scheduled quality assessments.

•    Coordination with external inspection and analytical testing

o    Coordinate bookings of inspections and external analytical test with suppliers and service providers to meet the target dates of production plan and shipment release.
o    Assist the team to keep track of the inspection and testing reports status to ensure that the documents are ready on time.
o    Review the testing reports for product release
o    Ensure all documentation is in order to allow release of product

•    Documents maintenance and updates

o    Maintain QA records in system and keep up-to-date (Analytical data from testing reports, external complaints, artwork status overview, project status, etc.)
o    Work closely with the team to update the status of the projects.

•    Testing

o    Work with International colleagues to define the testing protocol for food projects
o    Coordinate and follow up with suppliers and laboratories to carry out sampling, inspection, testing and reporting

•    Ongoing performance

o    Investigate and respond to product complaints by liaising with relevant parties 
 

What you'll need

Essential

•    Bachelor Degree or Master Degree in food science, food technology, microbiology or related field;

•    A mimimum of 3 years of relevant experience in quality assurance in food business. 

•    An understanding of food manufacturing processes

•    Project management skills with ability to work independently through tight deadlines by coordinating multiple stakeholders

•    Focussed on quality and delivering whats right for the customer – only the best is good enough

•    Self-motivated, self-organised, responsible, hardworking and independent

•    A can-do attitude is a must

•    Detail orientated – right first time approach

•    High degree of work ethics and integrity

•    PC knowledge (e.g. Microsoft Office) is essential

•    Proficiency in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin), both spoken and written

•    Willingness to travel (if required) – mainly APAC

Nice to have 

•    Basic knowledge of GFSI Schemes (e.g. BRC, IFS); and Food Safety & Quality Management Systems including HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000

•    Practical hands on experience of food factory processes 

•    Knowledge of German is an advantage

•    Previous exposure with EU and US markets is an advantage
