The objectives of the position are to manage the overall product development process from concept through to sample creation in accordance with the company's strategic planning.

What you'll do

The holder of the position is mainly responsible for the following areas in coordination with his / her superior:

  • Work with GM, Merchandising and Design team to formulate design and development strategy for coming season
  • Provide expert knowledge and insights on Sportswear, including but not limited to Outerwear, Skiwear, and Technical Performance Activewear
  • Provide technical expertise in fabric types, construction, workmanship, and performance fabric end use
  • Manage the communication of product and performance features between counterparts in Germany and Asia
  • Manage the design and development work flow to ensure timelines are maintained
  • Manage direct reports to ensure that all administrative work is completed in accordance with business requirements
  • Drive continual innovation by identifying emerging consumer needs, then developing them into viable solutions for the European Market
  • Perform a range of research into new trends, innovations and product ideas
  • Create seasonal trend presentations through online and in-country retail market analysis
  • Liaise with internal and external designers to brief and evaluate mood boards, artworks, product design overviews and tech packs
  • Perform benchmarking activities; analysing and formulating results into presentations
  • Select appropriate trim and fabric, updating internal libraries seasonally
  • Liaise with QA department to ensure right fit of the garment
  • Liaise with Merchandising team to finalise product designs ready for sample launch
  • Introduce seasonal updates and innovations to drive department revenue
  • Conduct product review and suggest action plan for product development enhancement
  • Manage the prepare showroom for range meetings and reviews

What you'll need

  • Degree in fashion and textiles or related discipline preferred
  • Approximately 8 years of product development experience sportswear or outer or related product type
  • Proficient in MS Office and Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop
  • Must be proactive and committed to working in a dynamics environment
  • Strong leadership and communication skills across all levels of the organisation
  • Proficient in both spoken and written English
  • Willing to travel
