Lidl Asia are hiring a Manager of Application development to keep the business running smoothly by planning, coordinating and supervising all activities related to an our software applications.  

What you'll do

  • In charge of the team that monitors, analyzes, designs and develops the company’s software applications
  • Act as a gatekeeper on architectural proposals for software development projects
  • Manage internal development projects
  • Guide and facilitate the applications development team and ensure that their skills & competencies are constantly up to date
  • Engage the business to understand the requirements and ensure the technical footprint matches their requirements
  • Navigate and test new technologies through proof of concept initiatives
  • Implement and maintain controls, policies & development best practices
  • Unite the business with technology through workshops & training to further engage them and maximise value-add from the various development initiatives
  • Strategic planning to ensure the technical architecture will be sustainable for the future

What you'll need

  • 10+ years of working experience in development and/or software architecture preferably in Retail or Sourcing
  • 5+ years managing an application development team
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent practical experience
  • Strong experience in programming such as PHP, React, NodeJS.
  • Experience with enterprise software development projects
  • A demonstrable expertise of micro-service cloud architecture.
  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • Good interpersonal, communication and project management skills
