Summary

We are now looking for a General Manager to establish strategy and expectations for the Power Tools category within HQ framework. The ideal candidate will ensure that Merchandising teams and cross functional departments are working day to day toward the set goals. They will also lead by example and coach the team to maximise work efficiency and excel in their business targets. 

What you'll do

  • Implement defined Strategies and manage the matrix of vendor and suppliers to ensure they are able to fulfill customer’s expectations and requirements in terms of cost, quality, delivery from development through to shipment
  • Responsible for the end to end merchandising, decision making, budget control, monitoring and performance in sales, negotiation, orders follow up, operational excellence and the daily operation of the assigned diversional product areas merchandising team, in accordance with Framework set by Headquarters 
  • To monitor the operation across office locations, ensuring pricing, quality, on time delivery and product development is in line with Buyer’s needs
  • In-charge of the vendor and suppliers allocation from sample to shipment
  • Drive the growth of the respective categories in coordination with sourcing and product development teams
  • Drive performance and establish partnerships with suppliers suitable to produce large volumes and ensuring the best possible value for our customers
  • Liaise with different parties within the supply chain - Customers, Vendors, Suppliers, and teams across the company to maintain a smooth relationship as well as effective and efficiency communication on a day to day basis
  • Co-ordinate with the QA Manager & Production Manager to make sure that the quality of the products as bulk production are being well executed to meet customer’s expectation and requirement
  • Oversee sample and production cycles
  • Oversee the assigned teams, give guidance, negotiation, coaching, technical support and be a confident, personable, open manager, who can coach & inspire a large team    
  • Have a broad understanding of the assigned division product areas 

What you'll need

  • University graduate in Business Administration or related discipline
  • >10 years of merchandising experience and with proven experience in leading a large team 
  • Experience in a western, mass market, value brand either in Asia or abroad
  • Sound background in handling divisional products 
  • Good project management and analytical skills
  • Technical knowledge in production and capable to solve issues with supply chain, quality and responsiveness 
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with internal and external parties
  • A strong negotiator with a commercial mindset and the ability to understand the broader picture
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial talent and resourceful in getting things done in a timely manner
  • Team player with interest to innovate, collaborate and excel in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent English language skills, additional languages would be beneficial, German would be an advantage 
  • Willing to travel as required
