Summary

The objective of this position is Specialise in Denim

What you'll do

The holder of the position is mainly responsible for the following areas in coordination with his / her superior:

  • Denim expertise from fabric development, washing to production
  • Present new trends with the Design Team
  • Provide support from a technical perspective during presentations
  • Work with Product Development team on engineering products
  • Market, fitting research and competitor research
  • Work with Sourcing Manager on allocating the right factories
  • Work with Sourcing Team on evaluating factories with right capabilities to produce denim
  • Showroom picking
  • Build and maintain relationships with mills and factories
  • Provide technical denim training to the Merchandisers
  • Work with Merchandising on price parameters
  • Checking execution of samples in factories
  • Review production samples if needed and guide factories on improvement
  • Create and manage fabric and wash library for Denim
  • Review fabric testing and wear test
  • Driving sustainability

What you'll need

  • Creative, proactive, team player
  • College or bachelor’s degree in Textiles
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in Denim
  • Professional knowledge of garment construction standard and engineering, denim textiles/fabric, trims, finishing, and manufacturing methods, the whole garment process from development to manufacturing
  • Strong technical denim wash knowledge, exposure to new denim wash techniques and technical fabric knowledge
  • Ability to engineer products
  • Cost awareness and focus
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills working in a diverse and multicultural environment
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Network of Asian mills, particularly in Bangladesh, Pakistan and China
